Only ten top cricketers in the world have done what a 15-year-old boy from Felsted School has achieved in a recent match, when he took eight catches in an innings.

Jordan Cox, 15, was playing for the London and the South at Loughborough in an under 15s team when he managed so many catches.

This equals or surpasses big name cricketers such as Godfrey Evens, Les Ames, and Alan Knott, and has only been accomplished twelve times, three times in England.

Although he is from Great Dunmow, he plays for Kent and for Felsted 1st XI, who came second in the naional final at Arundel Castle last season.

Roslyn Marriott-Cox, Jordan’s mother, said: “I felt very proud because I am his mother, it was good because initially I hadn’t realised because it had happened, because it’s just such a rare feat.”

The Felsted School crickets teams are coached by ex-professional, Jason Gallian, and the girls team reached the national indoor cricket finals at Lord’s.
