Five-year-old Amalie Henderson-Husson had her long hair cut short to give to the Little Princess Trust, the charity which supplies hair to children who have lost theirs through illness.
The youngster said: “I want to give hair to people who don’t have hair because it’s a nice thing to do. I really want to do it and my mummy said yes we can.”
Amalie was inspired by her older sister Jasmine, 17, who donated her hair to the charity two years ago. Amalie’s mum, Sara said: “I explained that there are little boys and girls who need hair because they are children who are ill.
Now, the youngster, from Stebbing, a pupil at Felsted Primary School, is also fund-raising for Little Princess Trust and so far has collected £75, a lot of money, when you are five.
Having just started gymnastics, she said she was very happy with her new short hair-style, which was cut free of charge by Feathers hair salon in Braintree.
