Felsted celebrates the past 450 years

History will be relived in Felsted this weekend when youngsters take part in a pageant and a parade looking over the past 450 years.
Children from across the eastern region will be joining in on the fun to celebrate the legacy of Richard Lord Riche, who set up the Felsted Alms Houses, in 1564. Each child in the pageant will be dressed up to represent a decade between 1564 and 2014, on Saturday at Felsted School.
The parade aims to celebrate the fact that the Alms House and Felsted School are both still surviving and thriving in the 21st century.
Also on the day will be a vintage cricket match, historical games, traditional races, dancing and entertainment by jesters and jugglers - plus the building of a Tudor house.
The event, which is free of charge, has been organised by the village community and supported by Felsted School.
The day will finish off with a concert by local resident Nik Kershaw. This is a ticketed event and for more information visit felsted.org/450.
