STUDENTS have given children of the future an insight into 2011 by re-burying a time capsule that was dug up during the demolition of an infant school.

Dunmow Primary School pupils buried the capsule last Thursday on the playing field.

Alongside the time capsule the school’s staff has also planted a willow tree – the emblem of the school.

Governor Mike Coleman was present for the initial burying of the capsule.

He said: “The time capsule was initially buried at the turn of the millennium at the old infant school on Rosemary Lane. When the infant school was demolished I dug up the old time capsule and brought it to the new school in Stortford Road.”

Headteacher Sylvia Ruck said: “Each year group has added something to the time capsule such as toys and art work which we hope will give an insight into the school in the future when it is dug up.”
