THAXTED Parish Church is urging people to attend its May Fair on May 3, and help keep the historic facility running.

The church has been a focal point of the town for centuries and urgently needs money to pay for the day to day maintenance of the building and furnishings. This year's May Fair - held in the Parish Church on Bank Holiday Monday from 10am to 2pm - is aimed at raising funds to help meet those costs.

Among the attractions will be a stall selling Moorcroft Pottery as well as stalls selling cakes, plants, nearly new clothing, preserves and jams, toys and books plus a tombola and raffle. Refreshments will be available.

The organisers would also be grateful for donations of items in good condition for any of the stalls that will make up the fair. If you have any items contact either Heather Bull (01371 830236) or Fr Raymond (01371 830221) who can arrange for these to be collected.
