BRAINTREE has a new neighbourhood inspector - and Chris Tyler is delighted to have been appointed to the role.
Insp Tyler said: "I know Braintree very well, having worked in the area for more than a decade, and my priority is to ensure that it remains a safe and enjoyable place to live, work or visit."
Insp Tyler has worked for Essex Police for 21 years, in a variety of roles which include a spell as custody sergeant in Braintree police station and six years working as a road traffic sergeant in the Braintree area.
He has spent the past four-and-a-half years as an inspector responding to critical incidents across Central division, which comprises the districts of Braintree, Chelmsford, Maldon and Uttlesford. Now he's looking forward to concentrating on policing Braintree town and the surrounding neighbourhoods.
He added: "I'll be walking and cycling in the town regularly, getting out on the beat, seeing what's going on. If you spot me out and about, please come and talk to me, and tell me what's important to you.
"Braintree has a number of highly knowledgeable and experienced neighbourhood specialist officers who, together with their neighbourhood policing teams, understand the dynamics of their areas.
