SPECIALIST equipment from Dunmow has been used to put out a field fire that measured over 500 square meters in size.
The towns’ firefighters were called upon to use their Pinzgauer 4x4 all terrain vehicle to get to the base of the blaze and help extinguish it on Friday morning (August 13).
Crews arrived at Church Lane, North Weald, just after noon and took under one hour to bring the fire under control – it is believed that it was started accidently.
