Essex firefighters clean up for top total
FIREFIGHTERS in Great Dunmow tackled dirty cars instead of fires at a charity car wash. As part of a countywide fundraising initiative, firefighters from the Stortford Road station hosted the car wash and raised almost �1000.
FIREFIGHTERS in Great Dunmow tackled dirty cars instead of fires at a charity car wash.
As part of a countywide fundraising initiative, firefighters from the Stortford Road station, together with their families, hosted the car wash and raised an impressive �977.
The cash will split between Help for Heroes and the Firefighters Charity.
Dunmow firefighter Simon Stretch said: "We would like to express our extreme gratitude to everyone who queued patiently to get their cars washed.

"The weather was on our side and we had a steady flow of cars all day. And we managed to raise an excellent amount of money which was one of the highest raised at any station in Essex.
"Both charities do excellent work for injured Firefighters and the service men and women from the Armed Forces.
