A Dunmow United under 10s team played at a world famous football stadium on June 3, where they came fourth in a tournament at the King Power Stadium, home to Leceister City Football Club.

This is not the first time the Dunmow United Stingrays have followed in the footsteps of football legends, having played at the Emirates Stadium, home to Premier League giants Arsenal in May and at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge.

One Dunmow player was supported by his family from Leceister, who cheered loudly when he scored a goal.

Gavin Wood, Stingrays manager said: “They still got very excited about it. They had a really good time. It is another team with big England players. They all come up afterwards and said thank you for bringing us here.”

The Stingrays competed against 12 teams and won their group, without conceding a goal.

However they lost 1-0 in the semi-finals to the eventual tournament winners.
