THE JOHN Tasker House Surgery gave more than just medical treatment to the community recently.

The Dunmow and District Stroke Support Group received 434 from the town surgery after two mornings for flu jabs, raffles and cake sales.

The surgery’s practice manager Annie Taylor said: “The mornings were manic but we were pleased to raise as much as we did.

“The charity was chosen by our patient participation group as we always try to support local causes. Last year we donated money to the Natural Childbirth Trust in Saffron Walden.”

This was the second year in a row the surgery has run the event which has proven to be hugely successful in raising money while proving a vital service for the community.
