People in Dunmow and Bishop’s Stortford have filled 78 shoe boxes for the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Appeal which takes toys and other gifts to poor children and their families around the world.

The contents were given by members and friends of the United Reformed Church in Great Dunmow, the Blind and Housebound of Great Dunmow and businesses and individuals in the town including a dental surgery which donated toothpaste and members and friends of the Inner Wheel Club of Bishop’s Stortford.

Spokesman for the Dunmow project June Milne said: “When the boxes have been checked at the warehouse they will be transported to many countries where children are in need.

“My heartfelt thanks to everyone involved. I am sure our Christmas will be brighter knowing we have brought some love to the children and their families.”
