A group of 25 scouts, explorers and leaders from the 1st Dunmow Scouts based at Mill Lane returned last weekend from the Essex International Jamboree, an event that takes place every four years and brings together scouts and guides from across the world for an action packed week.

This year’s event was hosted at Boyton Cross just outside Chelmsford where a small tented town was created as home to the 10,000 participants for the week.

Scouts spokesman Dave Callington said: “The younsters had an action packed week with activities such as Its a Knockout, climbing, canoeing, abseiling, archery and even clay pigeon shooting on offer.
