The annual fete at St Mary’s School in Dunmow drew 750 people and raised £3,500 for school funds, which will be used for projects including refurbishing the school’s swimming pool.
The event, on Saturday, May 21, included displays by the school’s steel band, the Dunmow Majorettes, Braintree Martial Arts Club and school dancers and gymnasts.
There were also games including a coconut shy and a wheel of fortune, as well as a barbecue, hog roast, a bar, teas and Pimms and strawberries.
School business manager Jess Horrocks said: “It was a lovely day, enjoyed by everyone and we’re delighted that we raised so much money for the school.”
