MORE than 160 people visited Foakes Hall in Stortford Road on Saturday to view the latest updates of the future development plans for Dunmow.
Neil Blackshaw, chairman of Dunmow Town Design Statement Group, said: "This was an opportunity for people to come and get information and offer ideas for what they want to see in Dunmow in the future.
"It was also the chance to take a look at the results of the photographic survey carried out earlier this year in which people were given disposable cameras and asked to go around the town photographing their likes and dislikes."
The centrepiece for the exhibition was a 3D model of the town made by members of the Dunmow Youth centre.
"Without the help of the Youth Centre we could not have run this event," said Mr Blackshaw.
"To commission a model of this quality from a professional town-planning consultancy would have been far too expensive, so we are very lucky to have a group of young people in the town who have put months of voluntary effort into building our model."
Dunmow's TDSG will provide guidance for future building development to meet the demands of the town's residents and businesses while maintaining the town's character.
The guide will be an important influence on Uttlesford District Council's planning decisions.
