CATHERINE wheels and rockets will light up the sky over Dunmow at the annual fireworks extravaganza on the Recreation Ground on Saturday November 7.
Some 3000 people attended the event last year - despite some poor weather - and were left highly impressed by the fantastic visual display.
This year Dunmow Round Table, the organisers of the event, hope it will be even bigger and better.
Round Table's vice chairman David Frater said: "Many people came up to us after the event last saying it was the best display ever, and we hope it can be even better this year.
"It should be another incredible display, as expected by the town. Please come and support local causes and enjoy our astounding extravaganza."
Dunmow's fireworks have become an annual get-together for the town, and fun is to be had as the organisers lay on a funfair and a massive BBQ before the display begins at around 7pm.
All the profits made go straight back into the community.
This year there will be the added incentive of a Guy competition. The prize is £50. Entrants must be under 12. All guys need to be at the Rec before 6.25pm for judges to make their decision.
Gates open at 6.15pm and the bonfire will start at 6.30pm. Entry costs just £10 per family, which is two adults and three children, or £3 per adult and £2 per child.
The recreation ground lies on The Causeway in the north of the town, but parking is likely to be very limited, so organisers are encouraging everyone to walk down to see the event to avoid any unnecessary queues.
So why not drop down and enjoy a safe, enjoyable and spectacular display as the professionals entertain you with loud rockets, bright sparklers, fizzing fountains and glorious showers.
