A Rolls-Royce dealer near Dunmow has launched their very own bespoke limited edition of the exclusive brand’s Wraith model.

P&A Wood, which is based in Great Easton, will create just 10 of the luxury motor cars, and the company’s workforce decided on what modifications would be made to the model.

Co-owner Paul Wood, who founded the business with brother Andy in 1967, had the idea to commission the company’s own version of the classic car and invited input from his employees in choosing what they would change.

So far, two of the Rolls-Royce Wraith’s by P&A Wood have sold at £305,000 and the cars can be supplied in any colour scheme for potential buyers.

Mr Wood said: “The Wraith is my favourite model but there have always been things I thought I would like to do to it. When we all got together to discuss it, lots of people had ideas of their own too, so we had lots to work with and an enthusiastic team.

“It’s very exciting to be able to put our very own slant on the car and I think people want something different. They want something special and I think we have produced that with this beautiful car.”

The external finish to the modified P&A Wood edition Wraith has been enhanced by hand-applied coachlining, chrome side strips and colour coded road wheels, as well as further individual touches such as colour coded side window surrounds, lateral Rolls-Royce badges and a full width chrome strip across the front bumper.

Among the changes inside the car, the trim is in specially selected moccasin hide, piped in pine green, the roof light cluster is hand trimmed in leather, and a final touch of luxury is added by lambswool over rugs. It takes the company around two to three weeks to customise a Wraith and the bespoke cars will be sold throughout next year.

As well as Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars, the company also has a 1919 Sopwith Snipe First World War fighter plane on display in their showroom for sale through the World War One Aviation Heritage Trust.

Fitted with the only airworthy BR2 Bentley Rotary engine in the UK, the example is an exact reconstruction of Sopwith Snipe F2367 and is in No. 70 Squadron B colours.

The aircraft has been flown in recent weeks, and comes with a sales package where it can be operated by world renowned experts for the new owner.
