DUNMOW'S Probus Club celebrated its 20th anniversary with members reminiscing about the trips, visits and get-togethers over the years.
Past presidents returned to give the party a special feel, and retiring Dunmow town clerk Owen Wilson was invited to give a speech about life in local government.
Current Probus president Adrian Hoodless said: "We started off with around 25 members 20 years ago and the club has grown to 60 with an active waiting list. Many memorable moments have been had - including a coach and ferry trip to France for lunch four years ago and many interesting tours of famous monuments. The most recent was a trip around Greenwich."
Probus is a group for retired or semi-retired people who still want to live an active life and socialise with like minded people. Quite often they come from serving with the local rotary club, helping to raise thousands of pounds for charity.
