BOISTEROUS pantomime performances brought in bumper crowds as Dunmow Pantomime Group put on Cinderella at Foakes Hall.

A six-show run came to an end last Saturday (January 10), leaving the town wanting more.

Group member Katie Savill explained: "We had to turn away people on the door on most of the nights because there were just not enough tickets for everyone. I think it is one of the most popular shows we have ever done."

Foakes Hall, on Stortford Road, was packed to the rafters every night as the cast - mainly made up of local actors, dancers and singers - performed the romantic story of Cinderella and her prince's search for her glass slipper.

Ms Savill added: "We promised music, magic, songs and laughter and I hope we delivered on all of things. We certainly enjoyed doing it."

Speaking after the Friday performance, one audience member and his family said that they had really enjoyed it. "It was great to take the family to something so professional right on our doorstep," he said. "We will definitely be coming again next year."
