A DUNMOW man was arrested following a fatal five-vehicle road traffic accident on the M11.

Claire Glaskin, 50, of Ware, Hertfordshire, died in the collision at Loughton just before midnight on Friday (March 27).

Mrs Glaskin was a passenger in a Ford Mondeo which collided with a number of vehicles, police have said.

A 39-year-old Dunmow man and a 20-year-old man from East Finchley were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and have since been bailed pending further enquiries.

The driver of the Mondeo, a man in his 50s, received serious head injuries and was taken to Whipps Cross University Hospital in Leytonstone before being transferred to the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Bloomsbury.

His condition is described as "serious but improving".
