DWINDLING numbers at the Dunmow Day Centre could see the foreclosure of one of its facilities..

The centre provides home cooked lunches for the over 55s in the town and all the surrounding villages.

Chairman of the day centre, Cllr Wendy Barron, said: “Numbers have fallen to an alarming degree and if this continues money for these services will run out, which could possibly result in the closure for offering these facilities.

“We are asking, via leaflets to clubs and notices on the town boards, for people to use the centre, come along and enjoy an excellent home cooked lunch for 5 and a chat with friends.”

The centre, in Chequers lane, is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. To book your home-cooked lunch, phone 01371 872874 before 10am on the day you would like to eat.
