For the second year running the Broadcast has joined up with Gallery on the Park and the Dunmow Pantomime Group to give one youngster and their family a chance to win tickets to the panto by creating a piece of art.

The theme for the competition is winter. Children are allowed to use any materials they like for their artwork, as long as it fits onto a sheet of A4 paper.

Entries need to be handed in to the Gallery on the Park with a £1 donation for Olivia Bowyer.

The money will go towards paying for treatment to help the four-yearold, who suffers from global developmental delay, to learn to walk and speak.

Owner of Gallery on the Park, Louise Poulton, said: “Last year was fantastic. Our judge Tom Deakins was so impressed by the high standard of the work submitted. It was brilliant to see all the different materials the children for their pieces.

“We are thrilled to be able to do the competition again and for another wonderful cause.”

There will be categories ranging from reception to Year 6. A winner will be selected from each category and they will have their picture framed and displayed in the shop window.

The runners-up will have their work mounted and displayed in the gallery.

The overall winner of the competition will get a family ticket (two adults and two children) to see the Dunmow Pantomime Group perform Beauty and the Beast on either Thursday, January 1 and Friday, January 2, at Foakes Hall, on Stortford Road.

Director for the Dunmow Pantomime Group,

Belinda Savill, said: “We are more than happy to get behind this competition again. It is for such a good cause and it is great to see all the children’s pieces of art.”

Speaking about the panto, she added: “We are very excited about this year’s performance and it is great to be able to do something different again.”

Entries need to be submitted to Gallery on the Park, with a £1 donation, by Wednesday, December 17.
