The Liberal Democrat's Peter Wilcock finished second with 14,930 votes.
Labour candidate Barbara Light was a long way behind in third (5288 votes), followed by UKIP, BNP and the Green Party candidates.

The turn out was 71.7 per cent which represents an increase of 3.4 per cent from 2005, although that is somewhat skewed by a boundary change which significantly increased the size of the constituency.
