THE Elsenham Flower Show proved a blooming success with a high standard of entries.
Some 33 trophies were handed out overall for various classes and sections. In the flower and vegetable section there are 28 sections, including trophies given for the best exhibit and the most points gained.
Other sections that drew entries included produce, wine, baking, flower arranging, handicraft and photographs.
All trophies were presented by the Elsenham Parish Council chairman, Cllr Stewart Pimblett.
The Elsenham Parish Council Shield for the most accumulated points went to Jean Woolvin. She took a total of six trophies, as did Kirsten Smith.
In the children's categories, Matthew Smith took the Margaret Hockley Memorial Cup for gaining most overall points, while Ben Revell won the Beeston Cup for the garden competition, his scarecrow design winning over the judges.

Elsenham Flower Show Society treasurer, Peter Johnson, hailed the event a huge success.
He said: "The flower and vegetable judges, from Essex Guild of Horticultural Judges, tend to judge on the standard of Royal Horticultural Society rules - and they thought the entries were very good.
"But the show in general attracted interest from a wide range and was very well supported.
"The show is for the benefit for all village residents and is something they can join in with. The nice thing is they can enter every class or just one.
