A FUN-filled lunch for pre-school children held last week at Little Easton Memorial Hall and hosted by the Mothers' Union has been hailed a great success.
Clare Rawes, spokesman for Mothers' Union, Five Parishes branch who organised the free event, said: "It went extremely well. We invited people from the Five Parishes, Dunmow and Stebbing and were delighted at how many turned up. It was a great success."
More that 25 children turned up to be entertained by Calamity the Clown who performed magic tricks, conducted sing-a-longs and had children shrieking with joy at her puppet pet.
A buffet lunch was laid on for mothers and members of the Mothers' Union to enjoy while they watched and socialised with each other.
"The Mothers' Union is about encouraging people to come together and interacting. The more they do that, the more we can help each other," said Mrs Rawes. "Anyone can join the Mothers' Union, no matter what their religion, as long as they believe in God."
The group meets once a month in Little Easton, the next meeting taking place in September. For more information contact Mrs Rawes on 01371 872640.
