On Sunday, May 20, St Katharine's Church will welcome a Royal Chaplain to preach. The Church is hosting a special afternoon tea from 4.30pm, followed by Choral Evensong at 6pm. The service will be from the Book of Common Prayer. It will be sung by the Horatio Singers, a choir from Norfolk. The preacher will be the Rev Prebendary William Scott, who is Chaplain to the Queen, Chaplain of the historic Queen's Chapel of the Savoy in central London, and Chaplain of the Royal Victorian Order, the Queen's personal Order of Knighthood. The service will be attended by members of the Prayer Book Society and the North-West Essex Church Union.
Members of the public are most welcome to attend the afternoon tea and the service.
