He's behind you! Oh no he isn't... Yes, it is that time again, panto season is back!
And this year the Broadcast has teamed up with The Gallery on the Park and Dunmow Pantomime Group to offer you the chance to win tickets to go see Peter Pan the panto.
We are asking children to get creative and draw a picture which represents winter.
There are categories ranging from Nursery to Year 6. Winners from each category will have their picture framed and exhibited in the gallery’s Christmas window display, and the second-place winners’ pictures will be mounted and displayed.
An overall winner will also be chosen – with the prize a family ticket (two adults and two children OR one adult and three children) to see Peter Pan (see page 18) put on by the Dunmow Pantomime Group, at Foakes Hall on Thursday, January 2, 2014.
Louise Poulton, of The Gallery on the Park, said: “It is really important for children to be creative and we thought this would be a really fun way to get them doing something. I am excited to see what the children come up with.”
Director of the Dunmow Pantomime Group, Belinda Savill, added: “We are more than happy to offer some tickets because it such a great competition, raising money for a good cause.”
To enter the competition the picture needs to be dropped into the gallery with a £1 entry fee, by Friday, December 13. The only rule is that the completed piece of work has to fit on to an A4 piece of paper.
All the money raised will go to the Helen Rollason charity, which aims to provide better support for cancer patients.
Judging the competition will be Dunmow’s resident artist, Tom Deakins, who has had his work exhibited at the Royal Academy.
The Broadcast will also publish as many of the pictures as possible over the festive period.
