RUMBLEBEES Cheerleading Squad, from Dunmow is heading to Telford on Thursday to take part in The International and British Cheerleading Championships.
This is the first competition the 40-strong squad aged seven to 18 has competed in since its formation last September.
Fiona Messer, chairman of the squad fund-raising committee, said: "They are really excited about taking part. They have been working very hard with their routines and also in raising money to fund the trip."
The squad will compete against other cheerleaders from across the UK, America and Canada.
Over the three day competition, starting on Friday with the finals taking place on Sunday, the teams will be performing routines of dance, partner stunts and cheer.
Mrs Messer said: "There's a lot of trust needed to perform in the stunt routines.
