SPORTING hero, Daniel Bentley, made an appearance at the Helena Romanes School in Dunmow on Monday morning.
Fresh after his Paralympic gold medal winning performance in Beijing, the 23-year-old Boccia competitor stopped by during the school assembly to show exactly how he goes about his chosen sport.
After showing the pupils the technique and teaching them about the rules he then took on headteacher, Simon Knight, in a friendly game to demonstrate the skill required to be successful.
Daniel has been on a whirlwind tour of schools, clubs and parades since his return from China, but has said that he really appreciates all
the attention.
He even led the carnival precession through the streets of Dunmow on September 20, as the crowd spontaneously broke out into emotional applause.
