CHAIRMAN of Uttlesford District Council, Cllr Catherine Dean, will be promoting sustainability at events across the district throughout her term of office.
Cllr Dean will be appearing at village fetes and fairs to offer free advice to people keen to reduce the size of their carbon footprint.
People in Uttlesford will also be shown how to calculate the size of their carbon footprint, enabling them to pick out areas where improvements could be made.
Cllr Dean said: "We all need to do our bit to tackle climate change. Measuring your carbon footprint is the first step to effectively reducing it.
"Some schoolchildren in the district have been holding bag-painting sessions, which are a great way to promote using reusable bags.
