Tim Allen’s Flitch of Bacon Inn in Little Dunmow is closed until further notice due to “electrical issues”.
The restaurant received a Michelin star in October last year, making it the only restaurant in Essex to have received the honour.
A statement on the business’ website reads: “We are closed until further notice due to electrical issues. We apologise and will be in contact with anyone who has a scheduled reservation. Thank you for your support and understanding.”

The spokesman said: “UK Power have problems with their sub-station which has therefore affected the electrics at The Flitch of Bacon. UK Power and The Flitch of Bacon are in discussions and taking action to get things resolved.”
It is not known how long the establishment has been closed for however on January 27 the restaurant said on social media: “Due to a major power cut our phone lines and internet system are down at the moment.”
The chef Tim Allen took over the pub as chef partner last year.
