CHRISTMAS came early this year for the Stebbing Brownies as the Dunmow Round Table Santa stopped by with an early present for them - 400 for them to purchase a Marque and accessories.

The Brownies leader, Brown Owl, Lorraine Irani, was thrilled with the donation. She said: "We first approached The Round Table about six weeks ago as we have heard of the support that they always give to local clubs. We have had to make do with borrowed marquees when we take the Brownies to various summer activities to provide shelter from the sun and a base for our group. Now with this generous donation we will be able to buy our own marquee and will also have enough money to buy tables for our stalls to help us raise money."

Great Dunmow Round Table vice chairman, and Stebbing resident, Dave Frater added "When the Brownies first approached us with their request, and having learnt how much fund raising they do for themselves, it was very easy to approve this donation. We pride ourselves on helping as many youth clubs as we can in Dunmow and it is clear that the work done by Lorraine, Sarah, Karen and Abbie each week with the Brownies will give these children the right footing as they development into teenagers.
