THE chance to take part in the biggest party in Great Dunmow is up for grabs thanks to a fantastic competition from the Broadcast.

The Dunmow carnival will be kicking off with a procession, involving dozens of floats, on Saturday September 20.

The Broadcast is offering one lucky reader the chance to win the use of a truck, for their school, club, charity or organisation, to turn into a colourful float fit for the procession. The winning entry will also receive £250 to help them create their winning design.

Editor Barry Hunt said: "This really is a great opportunity, particularly for small clubs and charities who otherwise may not have had the money to pay for costumes and enter a float to publicise themselves at such a great event. I would encourage any school, club or charity that would like to take part in the procession to enter."

Events committee chairman David Beedle said: "The carnival will be bigger and better than ever this year, to go along with the traditional parade we have arranged lots of things to see and do in the main arena on the recreation ground, including bands ranging from 'One Step Behind', who are the UK's premier Madness tribute to school bands and singers.

"All this and a licensed bar, but don't forget the fun fair!"

To enter just send us your ideas for how you would design a float or any of the costumes for a float on the theme of Magic, Mystery and Fantasy by Wednesday September 3.

The winner must have the approval of their chosen school, club, charity or organisation.

All submissions should be sent to The Dunmow Broadcast, at Unit G6 Peartree Business Centre, South Road, Harlow, Essex. CM20 2BD or by e-mail to editor@dunmowbroadcast24.co.uk

Please include your name, address and daytime telephone number along with the name and number of a person in charge of the overall group.

The competition closes on Wednesday September 3 so don't delay. There isn't long. Submit your entries now...
