CARA Winter, the singer/songwriter from Saffron Walden, thrilled a packed High Barn with the first full outing of her brand new show on Friday.

"I wanted this to be more than just the usual playing of a load of songs. I wanted it to be a completely new experience; a proper show.

"I wanted the crowd to be really entertained" said Miss Winter.

"Although I appeared at the Stortford Music Festival last week with the band, this was the first full show I've done with them."

During the two-part performance that lasted more than an hour and a half, the audience were treated to a fantastic performance that included three costume changes and an airing of songs that will appear on the album that is currently being recorded and due out this summer.

Talking after the show, Miss Winter said: "It went really well.

"We really gelled together out there. I was nervous before I went out, but once I was on the stage I was full of confidence, more than I have ever been before.

"I really enjoyed myself and I think that reflected in the performance."
