BROOMFIELD hospital, located north of Chelmsford, is to lead the way on pioneering research for prostrate cancer.
The hospital is the first in the UK to provide a new PCA3 (Prostate cancer gene 3) test which tests the activity of a gene closely related to the cancer.
Commencing on March 10 is the UK's prostate cancer awareness week and it is hoped that this new test, available on the NHS, will provide a much more effective way of detecting prostrate cancer.
