POLICE are seeking information about the theft of four Calor gas canisters from an industrial estate in Braintree.

At 9pm on Wednesday (Jan 4) a dark estate car was seen arriving at the front of the Dale Hire on Albert Road and two men got out and walked off. They were then seen forcing a gate at the side of the yard.

About 15 minutes later a light coloured car, containing two more people arrives and the stolen canisters are loaded into the rear, and it drives off.

Just after 10pm the two men from the estate car return to it and drive away. An unrelated car, possibly a Renault Megane, parked next to the estate car at 9.18pm - police would like to hear from the driver, who may have valuable information.

The stolen canisters were orange and 3 x 19 kg and 1 x 13kg. Anyone with any information about the theft should contact police at Braintree, where the officer dealing is Pc Phil Moor, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
