Tickets for this year's Essex Book Festival are now on sale. The festival, which organisers claim is one of the biggest highlights in the Eastern region's events calendar, runs throughout March and will include appearances by famous artists including musician Billy Bragg, Iain Banks who penned The Crow Road, and poet laureate Andrew Motion. Debates will feature a variety of topics:
BBC producer Jill Fullerton Smith tells us 'The Truth about Food' and Grace Bowman talks about surviving anorexia. Songwriter Billy
Bragg examines questions of identity and belonging in the UK. History is a strong strand this year: Joshua Levine talks about Forgotten Voices of the Battle for Britain and Nick Barratt helps family historians with the question of Who Do You Think You Are? The festival will be coming to Dunmow on March 21, 2007 when genealogist Nick Barratt from television's Who Do You Think You Are? visits Helena Romanes School. The Essex Book Festival is managed by Essex County Council Libraries in partnership with Essex District and Borough Councils and Thurrock Unitary Council. Tickets are available from the box office on 01206 573948.
