Voting to decide which community project will get large grants is open in Dunmow Tesco.

Until November 13, customers can choose either Ongar Town Council for their accessible allotments, Dunmow Cricket Club to refurbish their fence, or Bradwell with Pattiswick Parish Council for their playing field improvements.

Those projects will either get £8000, £10,000, or £12,000, and customers are voting on who gets which sum.

Tokens will be given out at the checkout, which people can use to cast their vote.

The money has come from the Bags of Help initiative, which raised the money from the 5p bag charge.

Lindsey Crompton, head of community at Tesco, said: “Voting is just days away and we couldn’t be more excited to get round two of Bags of Help underway.

“I’d urge shoppers to get down to their local store and vote for which of the shortlisted projects they would like to see come to life with a Bags of Help grant.”

More than 12000 groups will receive investments nationwide.
