Police are appealing for information about an armed robbery in Braintree

An 18-year-old pizza delivery driver was approached by a man who tried to grab the navy blue heatproof delivery bag containing three pizzas sometime between 9.45 pm and 10.15 pm.

When the suspect was unsuccessful he pulled out a black handled knife from his jacket pocket and held it at the victim’s throat. The victim let go of the bag and the suspect made off out of Chelsea Mews and onto Notley Road.

The suspect is described as white, about 18 years old, medium build, 6’ tall, short black hair, messed up and brushed forwards, pale complexion, clean shaven and spoke with a local accent. he was wearing a black long sleeved jacket and dark jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to contact T/DC 74274 Matthew ALEXANDER at Chelmsford Police station on 101.
