Appeal for information after Braintree pub staff member assaulted

DETECTIVES have appealed for information following an assault at a pub in Braintree.

The incident happened at about 8.30pm on Tuesday (July 24) when three customers assaulted a male member of staff at The Independent pub in Market Place.

The victim was struck with a pool cue and snooker balls and received cuts and grazes to his head. He was treated in hospital but was not detained.

Detectives have appealed for any witnesses to come forward and they want to hear from anyone with information about an orange van and a white pick-up truck that left the area shortly after the incident.
