A 12-year-old student from Helena Romanes School and Sixth Form Centre has been crowned the Under 16s British Figure Skating Champion.
Jasmine Cressey was chosen for the nation’s training squad when she was just six-years-old, making her the youngest to ever to be selected.
In six years she has competed in many competitions and in July this year qualified for the Elite Talent Squad – a prestigious accolade which made her one of only nine children to have got a place.
Jasmine trains for about 30 hours a week on ice and 10 hours off.
She is also a sports ambassador for Chelmsford City Council and received her award from professional boxer Antony Ogogo last year.
Jasmine has recently been selected to represent Great Britian in Budapest in October.
She has also qualified for the British Championships in November.
Her mother said: “Jasmine is a very dedicated and hardworking little girl who is determined and dedicated to her sport and I am extremely proud of all that she has achieved in her skating career so far.”
