AIR cadets from Dunmow are gearing up for a sponsored spin-a-thon to raise money for a minibus.
999 (Dunmow & District) Squadron air cadets will taken on the challenge this Saturday, Sunday and Monday at the town’s Tesco store.
The bikes that will be peddled to as far as Ontario, Canada and beyond have been lent to the cadets by Saracens Fitness of Dunmow, who have also donated some prizes for a raffle. The squadron needs to raise about £12,000 to buy the minibus, which will be used to take the cadets on outings and expeditions.
To support the minibus fund, or if you are interested in joining the Air Training Corps either as a civilian instructor or cadet, call officer commanding Flt Lt David Wilding on 01371 878915 (Monday or Thursday night between 7-9.45pm).
