YEAR Six pupils received expert drama tuition when actor David Garrud visited The FKS School in Felsted on Monday.

The children saw the thespian perform in a production of Michael Morpurgo's Kensuke's Kingdom with the Birmingham Stage Company in London before Christmas.

And Mr Garrud held a workshop, which saw the students condense the play into a five minute performance.

Headteacher Annette Nightingale said: "We're always thinking of ways to bring books alive so after reading the text, we carried it on by seeing the play and taking part in the workshop.

"It was a lovely experience for the 26 pupils who took part and they all had their own roles to play in the final performance.
