There's something magical hiding in the woods at Dunmow St Mary's Primary School.
Something that has to be seen to be believed. His name is Jingles and he’s a unicorn, well, sort of.
Jingles visited Year 1 students, who asked questions about how to care for mythical animals and stroked the friendly stallion.
The visit is part of a project in which the students are given weekly quests to help magical creatures, who have stumbled upon the school, return to their realm before they are turned to stone.
Louise Birchall, Year 1 teacher, said: “This topic encapsulated everything about our wonderful, creative curriculum. We planned the topic specifically for this cohort of children who had shown a collective interest in magical creatures. The visit inspired some of the best writing that the children have done all term as they were inspired to work hard together to ensure Jingles’ safety.”
