A-levels: Helena Romanes Dunmow

Students at Helena Romanes School in Great Dunmow are celebrating a 99 per cent pass rate for their A Levels.
One in five, or 20 per cent, of the results were A* to B.
Head of sixth form, Donna Wright said: “The results are a reflection of the dedication and commitment demonstrated by our students. This, combined with the support of staff and parents, has produced some outstanding results. I am extremely proud of our students and wish them all the best for the future.”
Headteacher, Simon Knight added: “I would like to congratulate all our students on their achievements and wish them well in their future pathways in further study, training or employment.”
Students in business studies did well. Max Brown, who achieved an A in maths, B in business studies and C in physics, as well as an AS in further maths is all set for an apprenticeship at The Bank of England in Threadneedle Street, London.
Lauren Howard, who is planning to study business studies at university, achieved Bs in business studies and sociology as well as AS levels in production design and maths. With her grades achieved, Lauren said she would apply through clearing.
Both Hannah Rowley and Ellie French are heading for Nottingham Trent University. Hannah achieved an A distinction star in business studies, a C in textiles and a D in dance. She is planning to study fashion merchandising. Ellie bagged a B in business studies and Cs in sociology and history and is planning to study business studies.
