The school announced a 92 per cent pass rate for sixth form students this year, with 25 per cent of results at A*-B.
Last year, the sixth form pass rate was 99 per cent, with the same number of results at A*-B.
Head of sixth form, Donna Wright said: "The results are a reflection of the dedication and commitment demonstrated by our students. This combined with the support of staff and parents, has produced some outstanding results.
"I am extremely proud of our students and wish them all the best for the future."
Head teacher, Simon Knight added: "I would like to congratulate all students on their achievements and wish them well in their future pathways in further study, training or employment."
Eve Fletcher achieved A*, A, B in sociology, English and psychology. She will study American studies at the University of Kent. Oliver Rochford achieved A, A, B in sociology, media and history. He is also going to the University of Kent to study Digital Media. Speaking about how he felt after receiving his results, Oliver said: "It feels really good, I am really relieved. I wasn't expecting them to be this good." After university, Oliver is hoping to produce videos for websites. He also is also keen to work in experimental documentaries. Unsure how we will celebrate his results, Oliver said: "We haven't made any plans in case it hadn't gone well.
Kimberley White achieved A, B, B in English, biology and psychology. She will study English literature at the University of Warwick. Relieved, Kimberley said she thought the English exam was "really difficult". Thanks to her experiences helping to teach Year 7s, Kimberley now hopes to train as an English teacher. "I was helping out in class and I thought I could actually do this," she said.
Jennifer Johnson achieved B, B, C in economics, history and maths. She is going to study history with economics at the University of Manchester, which she is looking forward to. "It is in a city so quite different from here," she said. She added she was looking forward to meeting "new people and having more to study and more choice."
Harry Plumb achieved a B in geography and a B in business as well as a distinction in applied science. He is going to take up employment.
Aspiring pop star Jemima Waters, who has been receiving singing lessons for a decade is moving to London to take up an unconditional offer from The Academy of Contemporary music to study popular performance.
Jemima, who has also performed at gigs, received a c in sociology, a C in English and a distinction in travel and tourism.
Felsted School
Over at Felsted School, 82 per cent of results were A* to C, and a 99.6 per cent pass rate. Some 92 pupils took A Levels at the school this year, whilst 29 students took the International Baccalaureate Diploma with 100 per cent pass rate. If IB results are combined with A Level grades, the A*-B percentage is more than 70 per cent, according to Felsted.
Head teacher Chris Townsend said: "This is a very encouraging set of results, being the result of a great deal of hard work from students and teachers. I am particularly pleased to see so many Felsted pupils going off to some of the best universities around the world, as well as to take up some very exciting apprenticeship opportunities.
I am very proud of the hard work done by this outstanding group of young men and women and am particularly pleased that two of our top achievers were supported by the school with full bursaries. Congratulations to everyone who took exams at Felsted, and the very best wishes for your future studies or careers."
Achieving three A*s in maths, further maths and physics, Jack Huang was the school's top performing boy. He hopes the results will secure him the place he has been offered to read mathematics at Cambridge next year. Jack, who aspires to become a professor, held the school's Wallis Scholarship, named after former Felsted pupil and mathematician, John Wallis, who is most famous for inventing the infinity symbol.
Felsted's top performing girl, Shola Akindayini, 18, is now one step closer to her "dream career in medicine." Shola, who achieved a clean sweep of four As and is from Braintree, said: "I would like to thank all my teachers for their support throughout my time at Felsted and I am so happy that I am one step closer to my dream career in medicine."
Head boy Peter Hipkin, 18, from Felsted, was another high achiever, securing A* in history and three As in economics, Latin and Spanish. He will taking up his first choice offer to read History at durham and hopes to combine his passions for travel and work by pursuing a career in the diplomatic services.
James Austin, 18, from Dunmow, secured three As in Economics, French and Maths to study Economics at Southampton while Agne Pasvenskaite, 18, from Grays, gained three As in Economics, History and Psychology to study History at King's College London.
Many subjects achieved exceptional results at the school. Latin achieved 100 per cent A*/A, with history and classical civilisation achieving 100 per cent A*-B and politics more than 80 per cent A*-B grades. English literature, drama, chemistry, music and PE achieved 100 per cent A*-C.
BISHOP'S STORTFORD COLLEGE
Sixth formers celebrated a 100 per cent pass rate this year, with 74 of the 120-strong year group achieving grades of ABB or higher.
Nearly half the results were graded A and above.
Of the 13 pupils who took the optional extended project qualification, seven achieved A* and five an A grade.
College headmaster, Jeremy Gladwin said: "I am once again thrilled by the excellent performance of our students, more than half of whose grades were A*/A and who, year on year, with the assistance of our outstanding team of dedicated specialist teachers, produce fantastic results.
"As a school, our aim is to develop potential and to exceed expectations and our students have, once again, realised this aspiration. These results have been achieved in an extremely busy, successful school, where pupils enjoy a wealth of opportunities through a very wide extracurricular programme; this sets them up for university and for broader life after secondary education.
"I am really proud of our upper sixth who have worked so hard to make their dreams come true."
NEW HALL SCHOOL
At New Hall School, in Chelmsford, pupils were celebrating a record-breaking year of A Level results.
The highest ever percentage of top grades were achieved, with 50 per cent of grades at A*/A and 16 per cent of grades at A*. A further record was set with 84 per cent of grades at A*-B. New Hall announced a 100 per cent success rate overall in 327 A Levels sat, results which included students achieving 100 per cent in a number of A Level papers.
Principal, Katherine Jeffrey, said: "We are extremely proud of all our students' successes. We are delighted to hear that a record number of students have secured places at their first choice universities, including competitive Russell Group university courses in subjects such as law, engineering and medicine. "The university and apprenticeship places that New Hall students have gained reflect the holistic education that the School offers, from humanities to medicine and engineering to modern languages." Academic departments celebrating particular successes include: Mathematics, with 66 per cent of grades at A*/A; further mathematics, with 67 per cent of grades at A*/A; economics, with 63 per cent of grades at A*/A; history, with 69 per cent of grades at A*/A; and Art, with 80 per cent of grades at A*/A.
