A WOMEN'S group passed a very notable milestone on Wednesday afternoon and decided to celebrate by raising a glass of bubbly.
High Roding and Great Canfield WI celebrated 85 years of meetings, trips and group activities at an afternoon tea party, with the odd glass of champagne thrown in.
Partygoers enjoyed an afternoon of cakes, scones and sandwiches at the Women's Institute Hall in the centre of High Roding before the official birthday cake was cut.
One of the guests said: "I have been here for about 10 years and in that time a lot has changed in the area, but the spirit and togetherness of this group has always stayed the same.
"Hopefully we can go on to last another 85 years.
