Members of CraftAbility in Thaxted celebrated International Women's Day recently with help from the Co-op.

Co-op donated goodie bags with activities themed around International Women's Day, which members incorporated into their usual day of knitting, sewing, tapestry making and jigsaw puzzles.

This was followed by lunch and in-house entertainment, before the Uttlesford Community Transport buses arrived to take the members home.

CraftAbility, formerly Thaxted Centre for the Disabled, provides craft activities for disabled people and recently celebrated its 60th anniversary.

The centre in Dunmow Road is open on Mondays and Thursdays from 9.30am to 2.30pm, and people are welcome to pop in during those times for a drink and a biscuit and to find out more about the charity's work.
