The creator of the Great Dunmow Soapbox Race is appearing in the new series of a TV show, where he was presented with a soapbox made entirely from wood.

Jordan Bright, who founded the annual soapbox racing event, appears in the first episode of series three of The Woodland Workshop, which airs at 9pm on Tuesday, January 9 on Quest.

The show sees woodworkers create bespoke handmade items for unsung heroes.

To thank him for creating the race - which has raised more than £100,000 for charity - Jordan's friend Steve asked woodworker Alex to build Jordan his own soapbox based on one of motorsport's most iconic cars, a 1960s Ferrari 330.

The Great Dunmow Soapbox Race 2024 takes place on Sunday, May 5.
