Families were invited to help plant bulbs at Old Park Meadow Natural Burial Ground in Dunmow.
The annual event saw bulbs, which were supplied by Old Park Meadow, planted around the grounds, ready to flower in the New Year.
Delyse Jackaman, manager of Old Park Meadow, said: "We are grateful to all the families who came out and helped plant the bulbs.
"Between the team here, the families and our volunteer gardening club we managed to plant thousands of bulbs.

"We can’t wait to see them all flower in the spring."
The gardening club takes place every Wednesday from 9am to midday, with a community coffee morning held from 10am.
Old Park Meadow also hosts meditation, yoga and a bereavement café.
