The Rowena Davey Centre in Dunmow, which offers hot meals to the over-55s, recently held a Christmas lunch for 50 regular users of the lunch service.
On Tuesday, December 12, service users enjoyed a "wonderful" lunch at the centre, which was paid for by a donation from Tesco.
The diners were treated to a two-course meal prepared by chef David Singer, along with a glass of Prosecco, Christmas crackers, mince pies and After Eight mints.

Lunch was served by the regular Rowena Davey volunteer helpers, under the leadership of Lucy Myers and with the help of three members of the Tesco staff.
A spokesperson for the centre said: "A good time was had by all, especially the winners of the prizes at the raffle, and provided a Christmas meal to remember."
